These past couple weeks in ISM have been the very first steps we've taken to research and plan out what we want to achieve this year. I have decided that I want to delve further into international marketing, but doing this will require the development of many professional skills first. We have learned networking skills, how to call professionals, set up interviews, present ourselves in the best way possible, and overall how to become a well-established individual in the professional community. Through my specific research, about my field, I have read an article about various influences on the marketing decisions companies have to make internationally. This article helped expand my current knowledge base when it came to cultural and business distances and how they impact marketing. Learning new technical terms associated with my field was also very beneficial, because it helps me understand the future research I need to conduct much better. In the next week, I need to start developing a list of professionals I can contact and meet with, so I can get a mentor soon who will help me explore more about this topic I am so passionate about. The next questions I would like to answer through my research are about the current market trends and the softwares used to analyze marketing data.
