New Year

Welcome back to my blog for this new semester of ISM! So far this year, I have had an extremely different experience compared to my first semester. My original work ended up being a full-length marketing plan for Mr. Doherty's vacation and lifestyle business that he provided me information for. After reflecting on this, my first semester research, and my winter showcase experience, I jumped headfirst into second semester research and locking down a mentor. I started narrowing my focus from marketing in general to marketing and business on an international scale to complete my evidence of learnings for this ISM semester. Moreover, I had to work on securing a mentor out of all the interviews I went on first semester plus a couple more. For one interview towards the end of January, I visited the American Airlines headquarters and got to talk with Ms. Alison Taylor, the SVP of Global Sales and Distribution at AA. Interviewing her, along with all the other people I discussed marketing with, was extremely interesting and gave me a lot of new information about the field. My mentor this year is Mr. Eric Payne. He is the SVP of Operations at the company, NEP, and he supports initiatives all over the world. I am extremely excited to start working with him in the coming days and finalize a final product idea out of the list I have already brainstormed.
