Interviewing

This week I have been contacting all the professionals on my call list in order to schedule interviews. I have successfully managed to schedule four interviews with different marketing professionals in Dr. Pepper and Pepsico, and I am looking forward to each and every one of them. I have already had one

such informational interview with Ms. Meena Sen, currently a Director of Integration at Keurig Dr.Pepper. She has had many roles prior to this, which were very interesting to learn about. She has been a Director of Marketing, worked in brand marketing, merchandising, shopper marketing, and more. Getting to discuss these different roles within marketing and understanding more about the large corporation of Keurig Dr. Pepper was an extremely interesting experience. I picked up a plethora of new vocabulary words about marketing strategy and the execution of it. I was also given helpful advice about my future in marketing, both in ISM and for college and my future career. Overall, I have realized I have a huge learning curve for the field of international marketing and that research on the Internet can only get me so far. It is much more beneficial to talk to experienced professionals in international corporations who can offer me insight into the real world of marketing. I plan to conduct three more interviews in the coming weeks in order to increase my knowledge base. I hope to call and email more professionals as well in this coming week to set up more interviews.
